Dette PCB-kortet er kompatibelt med alle Sonnet-årganger. Å bygge Sonnet med et lodde-PCB krever ekstra verktøy (en loddebolt) for å installere brytere. Det gir imidlertid flere layout-muligheter.
Hotswap-PCB-en (kun ANSI) krever ingen ekstra verktøy og lar deg bytte brytere på sparket. Du vil imidlertid kun kunne bruke visse layout og en full plate.
Både hotswap- og lodde-PCB-er er kun kablet.
I was a little nervous about pulling out the soldering iron again, but the extra layout options this PCB opens up made it totally worth the effort. The fact that it works across all Sonnet years is a nice bonus if you ever swap boards.
The layout freedom is exactly what I wanted—being able to customize the switch positions without being locked into a fixed setup is a huge plus. It took a little time to get the soldering right, but the board itself feels solid and everything fit together cleanly.
The extra layout options finally let me use a 7u spacebar setup I'd been eyeing for years, and the board itself is cleanly routed. Just remember you'll need your own soldering iron, but the process was straightforward once I got going.
