Å bygge Sonnet med et lodde-PCB krever ekstra verktøy (en loddebolt) for å installere brytere. Det gir imidlertid flere layout-muligheter.

Hotswap-PCB-en (kun ANSI) krever ingen ekstra verktøy og lar deg bytte brytere på sparket. Du vil imidlertid kun kunne bruke visse layout og en full plate.

Både hotswap- og lodde-PCB-er er kun kablet.

The solder PCB opened up way more layout options than I expected, and my soldering iron got plenty of use this weekend. Once the switches are in, the board feels rock solid, and I love that I wasn’t locked into ANSI only.

The extra layouts on the solder PCB are a big win for me — I swapped in a 7u spacebar and arrow cluster without any trouble, though my soldering iron got a solid workout. If you're not into soldering, the hotswap being ANSI-only is a fair tradeoff for the convenience.
