Voor het bouwen van de Tempo met een soldeer-PCB zijn extra gereedschappen nodig (een soldeerbout) om switches te installeren. Het biedt echter wel extra lay-outs.
De hotswap-PCB's vereisen geen extra gereedschap en maken het eenvoudig om switches te vervangen dankzij Kailh hotswap-sockets die vooraf op de PCB zijn gesoldeerd.
Zowel hotswap- als soldeer-PCB's zijn alleen bedraad.
The solder version takes a bit of patience with the iron, but the extra layout options are totally worth it for someone who likes fiddling with key arrangements. I used the hotswap one before and this feels more customizable for my weird split spacebar setup.
The solder PCB opened up way more layout options than I expected, and honestly the extra hour with the iron was worth it. It's nice to have a board that feels fully mine once I'd picked my own switch positions.
Soldering the switches took me an evening but the layout options on this PCB made it totally worth it. Being able to move past the standard setup and customize the rows is exactly what I needed for my desk setup.
