Le piastre universali supportano sia il layout ANSI che ISO. Il layout ANSI è il layout standard utilizzato negli Stati Uniti e in molti altri paesi, mentre il layout ISO è il layout standard utilizzato in molti paesi europei.

ANSI Half è una piastra con un unico grande ritaglio per il blocco alfanumerico. Ciò consente agli switch nelle posizioni alfanumeriche di sfruttare i tagli di flessibilità nel PCB. Se selezioni l'opzione piastra Half, devi abbinarla a un PCB saldato.

Per quanto riguarda i materiali delle piastre, la fermezza al fondo corsa e l'acustica sono questioni di preferenza. Nella nostra esperienza, i materiali più morbidi possono aiutare a ridurre l'affaticamento delle dita durante lunghe sessioni di digitazione, mentre i materiali più rigidi possono offrire una sensazione più reattiva. L'ordine dei materiali delle piastre dal morbido al rigido è POM, Policarbonato, FR4, CF, Alluminio, Rame e Ottone.
