Die Envoy Universal Plate unterstützt sowohl ANSI- als auch ISO-Layouts. Das ANSI-Layout ist das Standardlayout in den USA und vielen anderen Ländern, während das ISO-Layout das Standardlayout in vielen europäischen Ländern ist.

Bei den Plattenmaterialien sind Durchschlaghärte und Akustik Geschmackssache. Unserer Erfahrung nach können weichere Materialien die Ermüdung der Finger bei langen Tippeinheiten reduzieren, während festere Materialien ein reaktionsfreudigeres Gefühl vermitteln können. Die Reihenfolge der Plattenmaterialien von weich zu fest ist POM, FR4, Carbonfaser, Aluminium, Kupfer.

Die Produktions-Aluminiumplatte wird dunkelgrau eloxiert.
